When Grey Gardens Met Gucci

OK, I really, really, really wanted to find a store in Los Angeles that carries these furry numbers, Gucci's new Princetown Horsebit Fur Slippers, but there are none (it could be the fact that it’s currently 95 degrees) and they’re not being released for a couple of months. The recent Gucci collection, by new Creative Director Alessandro Michele, was lauded by French Vogue for its “exquisite eccentricity” and I couldn’t agree more. While I’m not really in the “two grand for a pair of slippers” market and I could totally mock these...I WON’T, because they’re just so deliciously ridiculous…I could happily shuffle around my living room and into the outside world embodying the vibe of a chic, slightly deranged maven! Their Swiffer-ing benefits are also not lost on me.

Did I mention these are made of goat hair? Who doesn't want to be closer to goats?

A Little About Me

I’m a Swede who lives in the Silver Lake part of Los Angeles. I like my design functional with oodles of color, never met a pompom I didn’t like, could quite happily road-test lipgloss for the rest of my life and am on the constant search for the perfect T-shirt. I was a magazine editor for 15 years, wrote a bunch of books that gave teen girls more beauty tips than they’ll ever need and owned a design store…not all at the same time.

Current obsessions: Chola-girl eyeliner, Clare V. french T-shirts, leaving chia seeds in plain yogurt overnight so it turns into pudding and the CVT soft serve ice cream truck. This will change, I can be fickle.
